About
Squish Egg is a one-tap timing game by RENCHBER GAMES.
What it is
A game you can learn in four words and not finish in a year. It runs in the browser, on a phone or a desktop, with nothing to install. It is free.
How it was built
Every number in the game was derived rather than guessed. The difficulty curve, the size of the timing window, how far apart the platforms sit — all of it falls out of two rules that were fixed first and never bent:
- Your launch speed is constant, so a mistimed tap costs you direction and never power. You are never killed by a jump that could not be made.
- The survivable timing window is the same width on every platform, whatever its tilt. Aim and accuracy are kept completely separate.
Both are checked automatically on every build, along with a test that makes sure the game cannot be beaten by tapping to a fixed rhythm.
Fair scores
Your score is the number of platforms you cleared — one honest number, no multipliers. When you post a score to the leaderboard, the game sends the timing of your taps rather than the number itself, and the server plays your run again to work out the score independently. A score that was simply typed in does not survive that.
Install it
Squish Egg is a progressive web app. On Android, your browser will offer to add it to your home screen. On iPhone, use Share → Add to Home Screen. It then opens full screen like any other app, and plays offline apart from the leaderboard.
Accessibility
- Sound and haptics can each be switched off from the title screen, and the choice is remembered.
- The game respects your system's reduce motion setting.
- One input, one action — no gesture, no timing chord, no dexterity beyond a single tap.
